IBPS Clerk 2026 Vacancy Details – 11,403 Posts

IBPS has announced a total of 11,403 vacancies for the Clerk/Customer Service Associate post under CRP CSA-XVI for the year 2027-28. Vacancies are published state/UT-wise and category-wise (UR/EWS/OBC/SC/ST) across 28 states and 8 union territories, and candidates can apply for only one state or UT. Among the 11 participating banks, Canara Bank has the highest allotment with 2,500 vacancies, while Punjab & Sind Bank has the lowest with 376 vacancies. IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2026

Nationality

Applicants must be a citizen of India. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who arrived before 1 January 1962, and persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka or specified East African countries with the intention of settling in India are also eligible, subject to a government eligibility certificate.

Educational Qualification

Candidates need a graduation (Bachelor’s) degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification. Basic computer literacy is mandatory — through a certificate, diploma or degree in computer operations/language, or by having studied Computer/IT as a subject in school or college. Candidates must also be able to read, write and speak the local language of the state/UT they apply for (or clear this later via the Local Language Proficiency Test).

IBPS Clerk Application Fee 2026

Payment is accepted online only, via Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, UPI (BHIM) or mobile wallets. Bank transaction charges, if any, are borne by the candidate, and the fee is non-refundable.

How to Apply for IBPS Clerk 2026

1. Visit the official IBPS website, ibps.in, and open the “CRP Clerks-XVI” apply online link.
2. Click “Click Here for New Registration” and enter your name, mobile number and email ID to generate a provisional registration number and password.
3. Log in and fill the online form with your personal, educational and other required details.
4. Upload a recent photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as per the prescribed size and format.
5. Select your state/UT of preference — remember, only one state/UT can be chosen.
6. Pay the application fee online through the payment gateway.
7. Verify every entry carefully, then submit the form (a limited correction window may be available afterwards).
8. Download and print the system-generated confirmation page and fee receipt for future reference.

IBPS Clerk Selection Process 2026

1. Preliminary Examination – qualifying in nature, used only for shortlisting candidates for Mains.
2. Main Examination – determines the final state-wise merit list.
3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) – for candidates who have not studied the opted local language up to Class 10 or 12.

There is no interview round. Provisional allotment to a participating bank is based on Main Exam marks, merit-cum-preference, and state-wise vacancies.

Preliminary Examination

Main Examination

IBPS increased the Quantitative Aptitude section this year, raising the Mains total from 155 to 160 questions and the duration from 120 to 125 minutes. Both Prelims and Mains carry a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer, and the exam is bilingual (English and Hindi) except for the English Language section. Selected candidates draw a starting Basic Pay of ₹24,050 per month, rising to ₹64,480 as per the pay scale ₹24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480, along with Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, medical benefits and other perquisites as applicable in the concerned bank. Customer Service Associates typically handle cash transactions, passbook and cheque processing, account opening, and customer service at bank branches.
